What about VINE ?

NOTE: Registering for VINE is an anonymous process and does not constitute a statutory request to the Department of Corrections for notification under 46-24-212, Montana Codes Annotated. You must also register with us, as described on Ready to Register?

VINE (Victim information & Notification Every Day) is a free, confidential, automated telephone and email system that provides custody status information about adult offenders in state prisons. Anyone can call VINE at (800) 456-3076, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, to hear the current location of an inmate. The same information is available on the internet at www.vinelink.com

In addition, anyone can register with VINE by telephone or online for immediate notification in the event of an inmate's release, transfer, or escape from prison. NOTE: Montana VINE is a prison-only system which does not track offenders in non-secure prison alternatives such as probation and parole.

To use VINE, you will need the offender's prison number or name (correct spelling required). Prison numbers are available on the CON website at: http://app.mt.gov/conweb/ Call VINE (800) 456-3076 and follow the automated instructions, or you may press 0 (zero) for a live operator. If you prefer the internet, go to www.vinelink.com , click on the Montana map, and follow the instructions.
