Staff for the Collections Unit under Administrative and Financial Services includes: Collection Manager, Lisa Grady and six Collection Technicians; Serenity Loomis, Trevor Isles, Edie Shreves, Tammy Blackburn, and Shauna Stallings in the Helena Central Office and Michele Cook at Montana State Prison in Deer Lodge.

House Bill 220, passed by the 2003 Legislature, clarified that the Department of Corrections can collect restitution from offenders' prison accounts, earnings after their release, and property. The restitution obligation remains with the offender until it is fully paid or, upon their death the balance attaches to their estate.
