Staff Services

  • Maintain and present a comprehensive, timely and accurate training program in basic supervisory principles and essential HR knowledge to be made available to all agency staff assigned supervisory responsibilities. The goal will be to have presented the program to a minimum of 50% of current supervisors by the end of FY12 and 90% by end of FY13.
  • Collect data on critical Human Resource related transactions and activities for the purpose of presenting an annual report to the management team which will provide them with essential data necessary to maximize our management of agency human resource capital. To gather information on the value and design of the data and report and to have refined it to meet management team expectations by end FY13.
  • Involve hiring authorities more thoroughly in recruitment activities by fully implementing our on-line recruitment process and involving hiring authorities to the fullest extent possible by end FY12. Goal will be to have 60% of hiring authorities doing their own screening on-line by end FY12 and 90 % by end FY13. Second Goal will be to have 75% of hiring authorities doing their own reference checks by end FY13.
  • Survey all agency facilities and contracted correctional service providers to quantify cultural awareness needs and design a training/visitation plan designed to deliver the amount and type of cultural awareness programming necessary to meet the needs identified. Program to be fully in operation by beginning FY12. All appropriate programs and facilities to have been visited by Native American Cultural Awareness staff member by beginning FY12.
  • Mitigate Departments travel and training cost by 20% through the use of CDEP by beginning of FY13.
  • Support efforts to apprehend escaped and absconded offenders utilizing the Montana All Threat Intelligence Center (MATIC) attached department intelligence analyst to provide and coordinate information sharing with State, Federal and local partners.
  • Investigation and Legal Services Bureaus will develop an annual report on major activities and functions; brief the department management team and publish the report on the department Internet.
