Director's Office

  • Provide leadership and direction to the department by establishing and communicating a vision that adheres to the department's mission, goals and correctional principles.
  • Create on a regular schedule and broadly disseminate publications, conduct managment meetings accessible to the public and maintain a comprehensive and accurate victim information and notification system.
  • Provide timely and accurate responses to all information requests within two weeks.
  • Support victims of crime by maintaining a seamless and comprehensive victim notification system about offender status, offering programs that give victims a voice and providing staff training.
  • Promote enhanced, evidence-based treatment programs and innovative supervision strategies intended to prevent an increase in recidivism.
  • Require all divisions to demonstrate the cost-effectiveness of their correctional programs.
  • Promote a positivework place by encouraging staff development and training.
  • Encourage personal responsibility by ensuring timely staff performance evaluations that measure whether epmloyees are meeting or exceeding job expectations.
  • Require management team members to review the department's Code of Ethics as part of their annual performance evaluation and mandate that managers do the same with their employees.
Health Services:
  • Complete a comprehensive mapping of all medical services provided to offenders by the department.
