Administrative and Financial Services Division Communications Plan

  1. The administrator and division bureau chiefs will meet weekly regarding division updates as a group
    1. Bureau chiefs will schedule meetings with staff based on current issues or concerns
    2. Continue to schedule division meetings at least every two months to reinforce the information employees have received from managers and to share information on department and division goals.
  2. Develop monthly goals and report back on progress (similar to the process used by MSP).
  3. The division will request agenda time at other divisions' meetings to provide updates in the areas of contracts, purchasing, inmate welfare funding, payroll, financial audit reporting, budget, federal grants and restitution/supervision fee payments.
  4. The administrator will work with the communications director and Web manager to produce a "frequently asked questions" page on the department's website.
  5. The AFSD administrator will continue to update division bureau chiefs after each DOC management team meeting regarding department activities. The inclusion of a status report from the management team would be a great score card on the department's progress.
  6. The division supports the action of providing each new employee with an overview of the department's organizational chart and background information regarding each division.
